Technological advancements have brought about major changes in the tourism industry. The rapid advancement of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the context of tourism has significantly affected industry operations and tourist attitudes and behaviors. Therefore, the application of smart tourism that has been carried out in several regions in Indonesia is expected to help tourists to be able to access and provide information related to tourist destinations to be visited, find out the location of the tourist attractions, as well as the accommodation used to reach these tourist destinations. The existence of smart tourism is also expected to provide an overall service and experience for tourists. Smart tourism can also be used as the most effective promotional media to promote the image of tourist destinations in the area and thus influence their perceptions to make a return visit. In addition, through smart tourism, it is expected to increase the efficiency of resource management, improve sustainability, and maximize competitiveness through the use of various technological innovations and practices.
