FACTORS AFFECTING PROFITABILITY IN FOOD AND BEVERAGE COMPANIES LISTED ON THE INDONESIA STOCK EXCHANGE

This research was created to provide empirical evidence about the effect of Liquidity, Solvency, Activity, and Company Size on Profitability in food and beverage companies listed on the IDX for the period 2015 – 2022. Liquidity is proxied by the Current Ratio, Solvency is proxied by the Debt to Equity Ratio, Activity is proxied by Total Assets Turnover, Company Size is measured using natural logarithm of total assets and profitability is proxied by Return on Assets. The type of research used is quantitative. The data analysis technique used in this study was multiple linear regression analysis assisted by the SPSS version 25 application. The population in this study were food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2015 - 2022 consisting of 41 companies. Determination of the sample using the purposive sampling method with a total sample of 48 from the 6 selected companies, but in this research there were limitations that is an extreme data. The results of this study indicate that liquidity has a negative and insignificant effect on profitability, solvency has negative and significant effect on profitability, activity has no positive and insignificant effect on profitability, and company size has a negative and significant effect on profitability.
